Sited on a green hill with a wonderful panorama on the valley below, Perugia is the chief town of the "Green Heart of Italy" Umbria. Umbria is a rare green jewel in the middle of Italy, not so far from the sea and Apennines Mountains and in a short distance from Rome and Florence. Perugia, founded by Etruscan in the IV century A.C, is located on a 600mt hill and the "acropolis", of the city is surrounded by the original Etruscan and Roman walls. The centre is an archaeological area where Etruscans, Romans and medioeval buildings coexist in a superb and fascinating ensemble. Piazza IV Novembre, with the "Fontana Maggiore" in front of the "Palazzo dei Priori" and the cathedral, is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.

Piazza IV Novembre

City of art, “augusta” city of history, monuments and culture, and of a great Etruscan and Roman heritage. The National Gallery of Umbria hosts magnificent paintings from Perugino, Pinturicchio and other masters. You can also enter the Rocca Paolina dungeons, a unique "castle" of its genre. Among other places of interest it is worth mentioning: Saint Ercolano church, the National Archaeological Museum of Umbria, the Etruscan Arch, Saint Domenico and Saint Peter's Church with its mediaeval garden, the Temple of Saint Angelo. Recently, the new Minimetrò, designed by Jean Nouvel, added the 21st century technology spirit to this marvelous skyline.

From Perugia you can easily reach the beautiful
surroundings: Assisi, Spello, Gubbio, Spoleto, Città della Pieve, Norcia, Orvieto, Bevagna, Montefalco, Lake Trasimeno…. Any of them deserve a daylong visit! Or you can choose to take a walk in the countryside, enjoining the magnificent colors of nature and the genuine food, olive oil and wines that are worldwide recognized among the best.

Public transportation
UM

The meeting venue is located in the city center and it is within walking distance from most of the hotels. If, by any chance, your hotel is outside the city center, then you probably need to reach the venue by public transportation, either by bus or by minimetrò. Check Perugia public transportation web page for routes and timetables.
